First aid training for hotels and resorts in the Algarve.
When a guest collapses at breakfast, chokes at dinner or is pulled from the pool, the first person to help is whoever is on duty. We train your team at your hotel, in short sessions that fit around your shifts, in English or Portuguese.

An ordinary morning.
Until it isn’t.
Sun on the cliffs, the first guests at the pool, towels being laid out. Nothing about today is unusual.
A guest collapses.
Not responding. Not breathing normally. Around him, guests in swimwear and one question: who knows what to do?
Rui knows.
Rui calls 112 and starts compressions. He learned it in one morning, at the resort.
The defibrillator arrives.
The resort is big: the defibrillator is three minutes away. The receptionist knew where it was, and ran.
The first minutes
are yours.
In a resort spread over the cliffs, help has a long way to come, even after the ambulance arrives. Until it reaches the pool, it is your team that makes the difference.
How many of your team would know what to do?
Why hotels
Guests from abroad, of every age, in places built for the sun: pools, beaches, golf courses and spas. And resorts so large that the nearest colleague, and the defibrillator, can be minutes away.
What we offer
First Aid at Work
The essentials for front-line staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the spa: what to do in the first minutes, until help arrives.
First Aid + Fire Response + Evacuation
Everything in Option A, plus the first response to a fire and the evacuation of guests. One course for your whole emergency team.
Each proposal is tailored to your hotel: the number of people, the shifts and the dates. Both options count towards the 40 hours of annual training required by article 131 of the Portuguese Labour Code, and support the employer duties set out in article 75 of Law 102/2009.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have a trainer in the Algarve?
Yes. Our trainer for first aid, fire response and workplace safety is based in the Algarve, so we come to your hotel anywhere from Sagres to Vila Real de Santo António, with all the equipment.
When is the best time to train the team?
Most resorts train between November and March, when occupancy is lower. For seasonal staff who join in spring, we run a shorter session at the start of the season.
Can the training be delivered entirely in English?
Yes. We deliver the course in English or in Portuguese. Before setting the dates, we confirm a trainer who will teach the whole course in English.
How do you work around our shifts?
We split the course into shorter sessions on different days, agreed with you. Each session keeps the same group together, so the team trains as a team and service is not interrupted.
Does it count towards the mandatory training hours?
Yes. Portuguese law requires employers to provide at least 40 hours of training per worker each year (article 131 of the Labour Code). As a DGERT-certified training provider, our certificates count towards those hours.
Which legal obligations does it cover?
Article 75 of Law 102/2009 requires every workplace to have an internal structure for emergencies and first aid, evacuation and firefighting. Option B trains your team in all three in a single course; Option A covers first aid.
Which option should we choose?
For most hotels we recommend Option B: it trains the same people for a medical emergency, a fire and an evacuation, which is what a hotel emergency team needs. Option A suits teams that already have fire and evacuation training.
